"A Dream Within A Dream", 2012

This piece is also influenced by my sleep and behavior research. I combine the liquid malleable nature of fabric and wax with the occluding solidity of wallpaper and jewelry. The idea is to capture a dream. Dreams often take us back to our childhood and adolescent years, hence the old necklace, earrings, hair clips, and fabric. They can quickly transition to the present such as my experience with sleep research hence the electrodes. Most importantly, they can evoke an array of emotions such as ones of frustration and anxiety, while others are of tranquility and peace.
